Here's an economical way to get rid of the dodgy old drum brake system on the rear of your lux.
This bracket system includes all the brackets and hardware to fit up stock 79-88 front calipers and rotors to the rear of the Hilux.
No machining of the rotors or calipers are required, and no brake line mods are required.
We have tested these on a variety of rim offsets including 15 x 10 (-44), 16 x 8 (-22) and 16x8 (-7) without wheel spacers and the calipers clear the rim.
Due to the extra amount of fluid the disc calipers take compared to the wheel cylinders in the drum system a 1" bore master cylinder is strongly recommended.
Note, this kit is designed for competition/off road use as there is no provision to retain the factory hand brake, we recommend fitment of a transmission park brake kit found here http://locktup4x4.com.au/hilux-solid-front-78/brake-81/transfer-case-park-brake-245.html or a line locker.
